Fall is in the air and we have so many options when it comes to celebrating this season! Please check all websites or call ahead to places of business before you go to ensure you have the most up to date information about their operations. 

Apple Orchards

Blue Ridge ~ Mercier Orchards https://mercier-orchards.com Mercier is open from 9am to 5pm everyday. Masks required in buildings. They are offering We-Pick, grab-and-go bakery items, and curbside pickup is available if desired. 

 

Ellijay ~ B.J. Reece Apple House & Orchard http://www.reeceorchards.com This orchard is allowing U-Pick apples, and weekends have additional fun farm activities available, such as pony rides and a petting farm. There is also a market and bakery. Hours vary. 

 

Ellijay ~ Hillcrest Orchard http://hillcrestorchards.net This orchard has the South’s first apple tree maze. Masks required inside and for cow milking. Country Cafe and Hillcrest Grill for lots of types of foods. Also features clogging shows, a bluegrass band, and several attractions. 

 

Ellijay ~ R&A Orchard https://www.randaorchards.com Located off Hwy 52, this orchard has you-pick apples or can deliver if you order via their online shop. 

 

Ellijay ~ Red Apple Barn https://www.redapplebarn.com Open seven days per week, this orchard has a playground, outdoor activities, pumpkin patch, and an apple orchard. 

 

Pumpkins, Corn Mazes, & Farms

Cartersville ~ Pettit Creek Farm https://pettitcreekfarms.com/pumpkin-fest-2/ This farm is holding their annual Pumpkin Fest from late September through October. Attractions include hay rides, a 2 acre corn maze, petting zoo, and lots of games and other fun activities. Website provides hours and pricing. 

 

Dawsonville ~ Burt's Farm https://www.shopburtsfarm.com Open from September through November 10 for pumpkin patch, store, and hay rides. The hay ride covers 2 miles of fields and woods, and features a glimpse of Amicalola Falls. Hours of operation vary. 

 

Dawsonville ~ Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze https://uncleshucks.com Various activities are in operation from September 12 through November 15 and hours vary. Their corn maze is 13 acres, and there is a pumpkin patch, a smaller kid corn maze, and even Haunted Trails. 

 

Powder Springs ~ Sleepy Hollow Farm https://sleepyhollowtrees.com Tickets must be purchased online in advance to limit crowding. Hours, rates, and dates open vary throughout September and October. Their Escape Woods requires separate admission. 

 

Powder Springs ~ Still Family Farm https://www.stillfamilyfarm.com This farm’s fall offerings include a 5 acre zinnia maze, pumpkin patch, heirloom tractor display, and hay rides. Some modifications have been made this year to ensure proper distancing. Local honey raised on the farm and other items available in the market. They are open on weekends from end of September until November 1. 

 

Rockmart ~ Carlton Farms https://www.carltonfarm.com/corn-maze Open Fri-Sun from Oct 2 - Nov 1, this farm has several activities and a 5 acre corn maze. On-site farm store features free range eggs, grassfed beef, and more. Hours vary. 

 

Views of Fall Foliage

Acworth ~ Red Top Mountain State Park https://gastateparks.org/RedTopMountain Often considered a hidden gem, Red Top’s over 15 miles of trails wind around Lake Allatoona and provide pretty views of the lake and forest. 

 

Blue Ridge ~ Blue Ridge Scenic Railway https://brscenic.com This is a 26-mile roundtrip journey along the Toccoa River through the North Georgia countryside. There is a layover in the sister towns of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee. Local lodging, dining, and activities are noted on the website as well.

 

Cartersville ~ Pine Mountain Trail https://www.cityofcartersville.org/459/Pine-Mountain-Hikes Featuring both an East Loop and West Loop, this trail’s summit provides views of Lake Allatoona, Kennesaw Mountain, and Stone Mountain.

 

Rising Fawn ~ Cloudland Canyon State Park https://gastateparks.org/CloudlandCanyon Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, Cloudland Canyon is one of the largest and most scenic parks in the state. Home to thousand-foot deep canyons, sandstone cliffs, wild caves, waterfalls, cascading creeks, dense woodland and abundant wildlife, the park offers ample outdoor recreation.
